RE: Heat in bathroom

The web site in Mile High's mods has all the "stuff" you need to do this. Wish I had it when I started, would have saved a lot of running around.

RE: Heat in bathroom

There is only one other vent on that trunk line and it is in the bed room only a few feet from where I cut in the new line so it doesn't rob much air. The trunk line run's through the basement and is sealed on the end. Most of this trunk line is used to radiate heat into the basement. The bathroom vent will be adjustable for air flow.

Heat in bathroom

I installed a heat vent in my bathroom today. I taped into the trunk line that runs through the basement. I used 3 inch metal flexable dryer vent pipe. I came through the floor in the corner behind the toilet. Tomorrow I will build a box for the heat to come out of. I didn't want a floor vent in case I ever had a leak and water could get in the vent. The new line runs in the compartment with the water lines and pump, so I didn't loose any storage space.
With the help of two of my friends and a pot of coffee it wasn't too bad of a project.

RE: Touch up/Repaint of powder coated metal

I have never had anything that was powder coated last. The only thing I know to fix it right is to sand blast it and start over with good primer and paint.
I have the same problem with my pin box, hitch, lawn mower, and the list goes on.

Hatteras Storm

For those who come to the Outer Banks and Hatteras Island this may intrest you.
Most people don't know we had a storm last weekend, that caused problems and washed a house away.
If intrested in seeing pictures from this "small storm" go to islandfreepress.com and watch the slide show under local news.

RE: Tow Truck Driver Used Axle As A Jacking Point

I have only changed one tire on my 5er. Did as Keystone advised and jacked under the frame. When the tire finally cleared the ground , I noticed that the landing leg on that side was also off the ground! All the weight on one leg. Next time I will either use the axle or hook the 5er to the truck before jacking.
Looks to me like the axle is better than other method.

RE: Truck Bouncing With Fifth Wheel

I know its more money, but after checking shocks I would think about 5th airborne pin box and equaflex for the camper. I had air bags on my last truck with a truck camper and never could get it to ride right. Always seemed top heavy and leaned in curves. It also seemed to bounce more.

RE: Pullrite Hitch

Another vote for the Pullrite. I love mine for the same reasons mentioned above. I would also STRONGLY suggest getting a Bedsaver with whatever hitch you go with. They can save a lot of grief later when you have that brain F###.

RE: Kin Pin Tripod?

How well do they work if you have a air-ride pin box? Never tried one but wondered if they would work with my 5th-airborn.

RE: If you don't have one of these you need one.

I deal with DNR'S often. They mean Do Not Resuscitate. This means that when you die, you don't want anything done too bring you back. Usually in termanially ill pts. You need some type of living will if you don't wish to be put on life support. (At least in NC.)

RE: Who Is Confused???

I have stayed at this place for a weekend. Went to see A concert and show at the outdoor theater next door. Some sites in the middle of the CG were nice, but our sites were gravel, mud, and a little grass. No trees anywhere. Lots of construction going on.
This area was supposed to be a Dolly Wood. Her brother Randy was running the theater (indoor) near the campground. The town put up the money for the theater (I think) then had problems with Randy and fired him and took the theater over. Then the economy went South and things somewhat fell apart.
Seems to me they are trying to dig themselves out of a rut with high prices to try and make it better but don't have the quility "stuff" to charge these prices.
IMO the town will prob. go along with the CG owner.

Auxiliary Fuel Tank

Well, with the help of a couple of Buddies, I got my auxiliary fuel tank installed today.
I went with the RDS 60 gal. with tool box from Northern Tool.
Nice tank, and install was pretty easy. People at RDS were also very helpful with questions I had before and after I bought the tank.
Now, if I only had enough money to buy 98 gal. of fuel it will take to fill both tanks, I would be set!!

RE: NASCAR at Richmond...........Nationwide & Cup

Yea Tony really showed his A## with his comments at the end of the race. If I owned that team he would spend all week saying "Im sorry" to the crew and I would fine him big time.
Had to be someone elses fault--not his--
Going to be intresting to see how he treats "His" people next year.

RE: Ford brake controler

I have an 05 and like the controller NOW. Check and see if you can do a pull test with it. (hook camper to truck, manually apply brake, and see if the breaks hold.) Some of the first ones would not until you reached a certain speed (mine included). My Ford dealer replaced it with the New version at no charge.
Some where on here there are a lot of post on this. You will find service buletins on it and what mt. trucks were affected.
Might try a search for Ford break controllers.
If you don't know how to do a pull test search that also. One main thing is NOT to lift the landing gear up too far so if your hitch is not locked you won't drop your camper too far. Love that Bed Saver!
